we were thrilled with the hotel, as it certainly seemed to be the best hotel in the area,,,the rest of Hikkaduwa seemed a little tired and run down! the hotel only opened in december, so was very comfortable and the staff well trained. with only 6 rooms it was also not too large and impersonable! we would certainly recommend it to all!
New building with well-equipped rooms. Only 6 rooms at the hotel - no many other people. Services provided - airport transfer, internet, room service, food were very vell.
There are good places. There are to level places and then there is paradise on earth! Roman Beach is what you can expect from paradise. First the rooms are very clean with top quality furniture. And I don't explain you about the room organisation, it is just perfect with view on the ocean from the bathroom :-) Even food is really the best you can expect.
Everything was amazing. The hotel has sea view and the rooms are decorated with impeccable taste.
Everything was great. No reasons to complain.
Greate hotel whit private beach, situated in a peaceful place but not far away from center. Services was excellent and people were amazing and very helpful. Food was good too (variety of european and Sri lankan). After spending few days in this place it is hard to find something better.
It was only a few months old when I stayed there and the owners/management must have invested a huge amount to make it what it is: a wonderful boutique-style resort. The rooms are amazing: really well-designed, spacious, well-furnished with luxury fittings. The pool is lovely. And the food was exceptional. It's away from Hikkaduwa town so was peaceful and is situation on a stretch of beach that was very quiet. It would be a wonderful place to have a honeymoon.
My only minor annoyance was that they asked me to change room on my second night in order to accommodate a family who were staying for longer. But they asked me very politely and explained the situation - and to be fair they upgraded me to a room with a jacuzzi. Also they don't have an alcohol licence, but there is a resort next door where you can walk over to have a few beers by the beach.
brand new hotel very nice design and materials the hall and (horizon) pool area are great, so are the rooms.
Some staff members are not as nice/helpful as other hotels we have been to in Sri Lanka. Food is fine but not great, and breakfast is relatively good but quite rigid in its composition compared to other hotels where they were basically asking us what we would like or would provide substantial buffet options. The polished concrete looks superb but you might end up doing a few scary slides/falls ; ) Nothing specifically related to this hotel but hikkaduwa is not the cutest place on earth and and the sea can be quite rough with a shore break.. but the hotel's swimming pool is really nice though!
Although only minutes walk to other eateries, shops etc (Tuks for longer trips), once inside the entrance drive, you are in a quiet, peaceful and well kept small hotel. Only 6 rooms total on 1st/2nd floors, it caters for queit, relaxing, quality stays. Large very good bedrooms with views to sea, good batrooms. Good breakfast, lunch and dinner. Very willing and helpful staff. Excellent well kept large pool. Normaly no music. The place to go if you want quiet, quality, relaxation and comfort. Two weeks did not seem long eneough!
The room was amazing and very boutiquey, the staff are super helpful and did a great job organising a little surprise for my partner's birthday during our stay.
Sometimes it was difficult to communicate as some of the staff could not understand us fully.
The location on the beachside and being close enough to the many restaurants & bars but yet still maintaining is peacefulness.
I really loved the fact that it only has 6 rooms. That makes it really relaxing and staff are focused on your every needs. Staff is friendly, has really nice breakfast and really nice pool.
Only one small suggestion that I could make which is minor, is that they have room service but there was no menu in the room. You had to go down stairs to order.
The staff was so accommodating, and very polite. The service was impeccable, to the detail. The rooms were modern and bright, with great simple details. The open air dining and reception area was clean, neat and nicely decorated. The food was amazing! Flavorful, and wonderful presentation. The hotel is small so it was never crowded, with beautiful landscaping and a warm pool looking out to the ocean and the beach. We found out it was pricey for the area, but if you are used to spending around 150US per night on hotel, this was defnintely worth it.
All super, but Booked.net has mistakes and I with my family and my little (11 months) baby was going to the other hotel 4 hour one way. IT's very difficult for us with our baby. Please try your mistakes get off for us, because I use your site always and in future I don't want difficult my holiday.
Courteous and helpful staff. Beautiful and tastefully done up rooms. Nice large bathrooms. Lovely sun deck. Cleanliness of a high standard.
Food was expensive compared to what is available at the beach hotels closely. Food if more competitively priced would have a better utilization rate and ofcourse would be better appreciated by the guests. Additional facilities like maybe table tennis or a compact gym or some indoor table games would be nice. Lower rates for the rooms in the non peak season would be a win win situation. Would like to stay there in the non peak season if the tarrif is lower. 150 US D is high in the non peak season.
I liked the location, very quiet especially in the evening compared to other hotels. The hotel has a swimming pool which I did not see in a lot of other hotels. The rooms were very spacious. The staff was very friendly and accomadated all our needs.
There were no beach chairs or shade on the beach where the hotel is located. Don't use transport provided by hotel. It was very expensive. I thought overall the price per night at this hotel was a too much.
